Listen, the truth is that no matter how much we want it, there is no magic - we cannot magically increase the square footage in a studio apartment. But you know what? With a bit of cleverness and a good plan, you can squeeze so much out of every centimeter that the apartment will become a cozy haven, not a tight box. Decorating a studio apartment is a challenge because we have to fit our entire life in one room: a bedroom, a living room, and sometimes even an office. How to do it so that you don't feel like you're in a cluttered warehouse? I'll tell you everything soon!
How to start furnishing a studio apartment?
Before you go shopping, sit down with a cup of coffee and think about what is your priority. Do you cook a lot? Or maybe you work mainly from home? There is no room for random furniture in a small interior. If you work remotely, invest in a desk that looks good and doesn't just take up space. In the kitchen, focus on functionality. Seriously, the most important thing is to determine what is the "heart" of the apartment for you. Once you know this, it will be easier for you to divide the space into specific zones.
Division into zones, or how not to go crazy in a small space
Zoning is absolutely essential. Even at 20 or 25 meters, it is worth setting boundaries between the "relaxation zone" and the "everyday zone". How to do it without building partition walls? I have several proven ways to do this:

- Openwork shelves – this is my absolute favorite. Shelves like these from Hubsch they are light, do not overwhelm the interior, and perfectly separate the bed from the rest of the room. You can place books or flowers on them, which immediately adds character to the interior.
- Carpets – sounds simple, right? But it really works! The position of the carpet in the living area clearly marks where the rest area ends and the rest of the apartment begins. Additionally, the carpet warms up the interior and makes it feel simply "homey".
- Lighting – don't rely on one ceiling lamp. Choose table or floor lamps in different parts of the room. They create the atmosphere in the evening and allow you to "cut" the place you want to be from the darkness.
Remember that a well-chosen shelf or a soft carpet are not just decorations - they are tools that help control the chaos.
Arranging a studio apartment is a process, not a sprint
I know you may feel overwhelmed at first. So many decisions, so much furniture to choose! But don't worry, give yourself time. A studio apartment doesn't have to look like a dorm room, even if it's only 20 meters. The key is to choose furniture that is beautiful but also multifunctional. If you manage to arrange this interior wisely, I guarantee you that you will feel great in it - both for rest and when guests visit.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions
Is it better to give up a large bed in favor of a sofa in a studio apartment?
It's up to you! If you have space and sleep is sacred to you, choose a comfortable bed and separate it with a shelf. However, if you prefer more space during the day, a good sofa with a sleeping function will be a hit.

What colors are best for a small apartment?
Light colors always visually enlarge the space, that's a fact. But don't be afraid of stronger accents in accessories - they give the interior character and prevent it from being boring.
