How to furnish a small kitchen in a block of flats?
How to arrange a small kitchen? A small, well-organized kitchen is one in which every inch is utilized. There are no empty corners or spaces between furniture. To make the most of the available space, choose cabinets with a pull-out or swivel shelf system. Some furniture variants are also equipped with pull-out tops that can be used as a table or additional work space.
When it comes to styles, the Scandinavian style will definitely work well here, because furniture with light fronts works best in a small kitchen. If you dream of stylized interiors, consider subtle wooden doors with glass. A modern or minimalist style will bring bright, shiny surfaces that will reflect light to a small kitchen. However, it is worth paying attention to the fact that when arranging a kitchen connected to another room, the style should match the rest of the furniture to ensure consistency of the entire apartment.
In rooms with a minimal area, cabinets with sliding doors or comfortable louvered models are often used. A very reasonable solution is also to build cabinets above the countertop to the full height of the room, this not only provides additional and very important storage space, but also creates a new look for the interior. Everything must be well-thought-out and ergonomic, even if unusual or even controversial.
A table in a small kitchen requires special solutions
Small kitchens usually don't have enough space for a traditional table. If a dining area is necessary, consider a small side table or convenient movable tabletop. To "steal" space, you can, or perhaps even should, think about practical solutions, e.g. attach the table top to the wall on hinges, which can only be unfolded for meals, and when folded, it adds order, because everything that needs to find its place on it 😉 The table top can also be pulled out from the furniture or hidden in another way. The chairs can also be folded.
Avoid putting everything on countertops.
What equipment to choose for a small kitchen?
When furnishing a small kitchen, it is worth choosing built-in household appliances. A free-standing stove or oven will take up much more space. If your kitchen is one of the smallest, replace the two-bowl sink with a smaller version. Think about a dishwasher, even one with one drawer. If you don't cook often, give up the electric hob with four burners in favor of a small 2-burner one, or even install an oven with an evaporator function instead. Narrow kitchen in a block of flats it's also for your device!
If the kitchen is larger, e.g. open to the living room, it is worth considering an island hood mounted to the ceiling, which also allows for more effective kitchen arrangement.
Pay attention to space and order in small rooms
Small rooms in general, and kitchens in particular, are often decorated in the Scandinavian style. This has many advantages, but in the case of small kitchens it is basic - light colors create space.
When taking care of optics, the selection of lighting sources and accessories is extremely important. When answering the question of how to arrange a small kitchen, it is worth paying attention to lighting. In this respect, minimalism is what we are looking for. Ceiling fixtures or a bright ceiling lamp hanging above the table will probably work.
Some people don't like storing their kitchen accessories out in the open. If you are one of them, consider modern furniture equipped with baskets, hangers and organizers, or a high, retractable cargo shelf that will act as a home pantry where you can hide dishes, pots, household appliances and food products. However, if you prefer to have everything at hand, hang practical shelves on the wall, but they must be tidy.

Small kitchen it's also accessories. It is important that their selection follows the previously indicated principles, i.e., above all, order and moderation. Following them, you can, for example, hang herbs on the wall in designer containers with a uniform color. And keeping order in mind, we look for solutions that will bring it about, e.g. by placing three containers in one row at the same height. Lack of symmetry won't help here. It will be necessary ceiling lighting for the kitchen such as for example hanging lamps for the kitchen.
There is a solution for every interior! Even for the smallest of things. Today, every small kitchen in a block of flats is able to meet our growing requirements and arouse admiration.
