Hi! Have you ever wondered what really creates the atmosphere in a loft? Sure, brick on the wall or raw wood do the job, but the lighting is the dot on the "i". Today we will talk about loft lamps - hanging ones that attract attention, and ceiling lamps that arrange the space brilliantly. Sit back, grab a coffee and let's see how to do it at home so it won't be boring.
Loft atmosphere not only in high halls
Do you associate all these photos with huge, old factories converted into apartments? Beautiful, right? But let's face it - most of us live in ordinary apartment blocks or houses with typical ceiling heights. And guess what? It doesn't bother me at all! The secret of loft hanging lamps is simply a long cable. Thanks to it, we can "bring" the light lower, exactly where we need it. It doesn't matter whether you have a two-and-a-half-meter ceiling or a high attic - the appropriate suspension length will do the trick.
A barn-type house - you can go crazy here
If you are lucky and live in a house with exposed rafters or ceiling boards, you have the perfect place to play with light. You can hang a lamp there on up to three meters of cable! The coolest thing is that this loft ceiling lamp can be adjusted. Do you want to illuminate a specific reading chair or kitchen counter? No problem, just set it the way you feel comfortable.

Weight matters
Listen, one important piece of advice: look for lamps that "have weight". I'm talking about brass, metal or concrete. Why? Because the light plastic lampshade will sway with every draft, and this is terribly irritating. A decent, heavy lamp hangs stably, the light falls exactly where it should and nothing shakes. This way, when you read the book, you won't have dancing shadows in front of your eyes. It may seem like a detail, but believe me - it makes a huge difference in comfort.
Don't be afraid of deployment
Who said that the lamp has to hang perfectly in the middle of the room? In large, open interiors, such as the recently popular "barns", it is worth dividing the lighting into several points. Hang something low above the dining table to make it cozy, and in the seating area, put a lamp that gives more diffused light. You can even use several identical models in different parts of the living room - it perfectly integrates the entire interior.
How to choose light bulbs?
This is my favorite question! The principle is simple: where we rest - e.g. above the dining room table or in the bedroom - we give warm light. It's immediately nice. But if you have a work corner in the living room, it is better to use something in a neutral color. Thanks to this, the eyes are less tired. And to the bathroom? If you can find waterproof loft lamps, seriously, do it. Bathing in this atmospheric "loft sun" is pure relaxation.
Design that "makes" the interior
Do you know what is best about loft lamps? That they look great even when they are dimmed. Such a black, concrete lamp is a real rebel in the room - it adds character, a bit of seriousness and elegance. Brass, on the other hand, is a different story - it warms up the interior and adds a bit of elegance, even in a very austere environment. Don't be afraid of asymmetry either. Suspending two lamps at different heights next to each other looks amazing and adds dynamics to the interior.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions
Do I have to have a high ceiling for a loft lamp to look good?
Absolutely not! Just choose the appropriate cable length. Even in a low block of flats, a hanging lamp above the table looks great, as long as it doesn't hang too high.
Which light bulbs best suit the industrial style?
It all depends on the function. For relaxation, choose warm light (approx. 2700K), and for places where you work or prepare meals, neutral light is better.
Can different types of lamps be combined in one room?
Of course it is! It is important to maintain consistency of materials or colors. If you have a concrete lamp above the table, it would be nice if there were accents in a similar atmosphere in the living room.
