Hi! Have you ever wondered what really does the most work when it comes to coziness in an apartment? Well, of course, what we have under our feet. When we arrange modern rooms, sooner or later the eternal question arises: carpet or rug? I went through this myself and I can tell you that there is no one right answer. It all depends on how you live every day. Okay, sit back with a cup of something warm and I'll try to explain it to you a bit!
Carpeting, i.e. softness from wall to wall
Listen, we sometimes associate carpets with the old days, but today's materials are a completely different story. The truth is that laying carpet in the bedroom or living room gives an incredible feeling of coziness. Imagine that in the morning you stand with your bare feet on something super soft... That's a fairy tale!
What else speaks for carpet? First of all, it makes the room perfectly quiet. If you have children who love to run or you just like silence, this is a perfect choice. Moreover, modern carpets are really durable and abrasion-resistant, so they can be used even in the hall without any problems. And you don't have to worry that the choice is boring - today's colors and patterns can delight and fit perfectly into modern trends.

Japandi style and Scandinavian atmosphere
And since we're talking about coziness, you've probably heard of the Japandi style? It's such a brilliant combination of Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth. Natural materials dominate here: wood, bamboo, linen and, of course, subdued earth tones. And how to incorporate the floor into all this?
Honestly, thick, fleshy carpets look best in Scandinavian and Japanese interiors. Especially those made of wool or braided jute. They add a brilliant texture to the interior and make the space feel simply homely. A carpet will also work, but let's face it - it's a good, natural carpet that does all the work here and attracts the eye, creating the harmonious, calm atmosphere we want.

The carpet in the living room, or your personal manifesto
The living room is the heart of the home, so we can really go crazy here. If your apartment is rather minimalist, a geometric carpet in shades of gray or beige will beautifully tie the entire space together. Triangles, rhombuses, straight lines - it always looks good and classy.
But what if you like bolder steps? Recently, I have been fascinated by combinations of gray with yellow or delicate pink. Or maybe deep burgundy? Such a strong color accent on the floor can enliven even the simplest arrangement and add character to it. If you prefer something more eco-friendly, be sure to check out jute or sisal rugs. They are incredibly durable, easy to clean and look super fashionable. For fans of the classics, there is always a fluffy shaggy - walking on it is pure pleasure.

Toddler's room - cleverness counts here
Choosing a carpet for a child is a real driving school. It definitely has to be soft, because most of the play takes place on the floor. But let's face it - juice stains, plasticine and crumbs are everyday occurrences. Therefore, in my opinion, carpets that can simply be thrown into the washing machine work best. Seriously, it's a lifesaver!
It is worth choosing models made of durable synthetic materials, such as polyester or acrylic, because they are easy to remove stains and are very durable. And as for appearance? Forget about boredom! Oval shapes, space motifs and forest animals will not only decorate the room, but will also become a great background for creative play.

Short ball: carpet or rug?
Okay, so what should you choose? If you like changes, often rearrange furniture and want to easily refresh the look of the room - choose a carpet. You can roll it up, shake it out or replace it with another model whenever your taste changes.
However, if you dream of a bedroom like in a luxury hotel, where the entire floor is soft, warm and perfectly uniform - the carpet will be a hit. The most important thing is to match the choice to your lifestyle and enjoy the beautiful interior!

FAQ – Frequently asked questions
Is carpet difficult to clean?
Not at all! Today's carpets are made of modern fibers that do not absorb dirt so easily. Regular vacuuming is enough for everyday use, and from time to time it is worth renting a washing vacuum cleaner to freshen everything and get rid of deeper dirt.
I have a dog and a cat. Is it better to choose a carpet or a rug?
With pets, a carpet will be much easier to handle. It's easier to shake it out, take it to a professional cleaner, and in the event of an "accident", clean only one specific part of the floor. With carpets, removing hair from every corner can be a bit of a challenge.

Are jute rugs rough?
They are slightly stiffer than wool or cotton ones, but they have a brilliant texture. If you don't plan to lie flat on them, but put them under the table in the dining room, in the hall or next to the sofa, they will work perfectly and will certainly not be a bother, and will add a lot of natural charm to the interior.
