Eco style – what does it even mean?
Okay, let's get down to business. What is this "ecological style", also called "green" or simply "eco"? This is nothing more than an approach to interior design, where we focus primarily on materials and solutions that are environmentally friendly. The idea is for our home to have as little negative impact on the planet as possible. And it really works! But for this to be successful, you need to remember a few simple rules.

Such golden rules of eco interiors include, above all, choosing natural and renewable raw materials - think about wood, stone, cotton, linen. It is also important to avoid harmful chemicals. In addition, there is saving water and energy (e.g. thanks to LED lighting, which is really super energy-saving!). And last but not least: let's give a second life to furniture and accessories! Recycling and upcycling are our best friends.
How to make your home more eco-friendly? My 5 tips!
I have collected the most important points for you that will help you with green decorating. Look!

Choose nature - materials with soul
Listen, this is the basis! When we choose materials for our interior, let's look for those that are natural or renewable. Wood, stone, clay, cotton, linen - these are our heroes! Why? Because they are biodegradable. This means that someday, in the distant future, they will simply return to the earth and will not harm it. That's a really cool thought, isn't it?
Imagine a beautiful wooden table, a stone countertop in the kitchen or linen curtains. It's not only eco-friendly, but it also looks wonderful and brings a warm, natural atmosphere to the interior. How about a stone table or a lamp? These are the flavors that do the job!

Goodbye, chemotherapy! Hello fresh air!
Eco style also means taking care of what we breathe in our home. Therefore, let us try to avoid all substances that may harm our health and the environment. Choose water-based paints and varnishes - those without harmful volatile organic compounds. Seriously, the difference in smell is immediately noticeable, and in terms of health it's heaven and earth. Let's also limit plastics and other synthetic materials wherever possible.
Save and nature will thank you (and your wallet too!)
Being eco is also being smart! Minimizing water and energy consumption at home is something that really pays off. Choose appliances with the highest energy class (A+++ is already a standard!), install energy-saving faucets in the bathroom and kitchen. These are small steps, but over the course of a year the bills can really surprise you positively! And of course, LED lighting, which I have already mentioned, is a must-have in an eco home.

Give it a second life! Recycling and upcycling are super power!
Oh, this is something I love! Recycling and reusing materials is the essence of eco design. Instead of buying new ones, look for gems at flea markets, renovate an old piece of furniture from your grandmother or choose something made of recycled materials. This not only reduces the amount of waste, but also gives the interior a unique character.
Rattan furniture, for example, armchairs and a sofa, fit this trend perfectly. They are beautiful, light and often made of renewable raw materials. Plus, they can be refurbished and last for years! Have you ever thought about such a rattan table?

Beautiful and practical, two in one!
The last rule, but certainly not the least important: an eco interior is an interior that is not only beautiful, but also functional and practical. Let's choose furniture and accessories that will serve us for a long time, instead of replacing them every now and then. Longevity is the key to reducing waste.
And besides, who said that eco has to be strict and ascetic? On the contrary! It has to be comfortable and aesthetic, so that you feel truly relaxed and happy in your home. Because that's what it's all about, right?

Colors of nature, a palette of colors straight from the forest and meadow!
Colors are magic that can completely change the interior. In eco style, we focus on colors that refer to nature. The idea is that everything should harmoniously combine with each other - colors and materials. Remember about rattan furniture, but also think about how the colors will make your eco house simply perfectly thought out and designed.
Here are some colors that work really well:
- Beige and brown – these are the colors of earth and wood. They are associated with naturalness, they are neutral, but at the same time warm and pleasant. Perfect as a background for other, more expressive elements.
- Green – so what, no greenery in an eco-friendly interior? Of course not! Green is nature and ecology in its pure form. Mint, olive, bottle green – you have the whole palette here! You can paint the wall or simply add a lot of plants. They are a wonderful decoration!
- White – white is purity, brightness, space. In eco style, we often use it as a background because it optically enlarges the rooms and lets more light into them. A classic that will always work.
- Gray – gray is sometimes associated with austerity, but in an eco interior it is a brilliant, neutral color that perfectly complements other colors. Think about stone, concrete, but also about gray walls and furniture. And if you like classics, a black stone console will also be great!
- Yellow – sun, warmth, positive energy! Yellow is an accent that can cheer up any interior. It can be a yellow wall, but also pillows, bedspreads or... a seagrass carpet! Or a seagrass lamp – these are the details that make the difference.
Choosing the right colors is really the key to creating a harmonious and peaceful interior that will be close to nature. Remember that the colors match the materials and other elements - then the whole thing will be coherent and simply beautiful! A smile on your face guaranteed! 🙂

FAQ – Frequently asked questions
Does an eco interior have to be expensive?
Not necessarily! It may seem that way sometimes, but the truth is that we often save money in the long run. Investing in durable, good-quality materials or energy-saving equipment pays off in lower bills. And remember to recycle - renovating old furniture is often cheaper than buying new ones!
Do I have to change everything at home right away?
Absolutely not! Start with small steps. Replace the light bulbs with LEDs, buy linen pillowcases, put more plants. Every change, even the smallest, is a step in the right direction. It is important to start and gradually introduce these green habits.
Where to look for inspiration for eco interiors?
All around! Nature is the best designer. Browse Pinterest, Instagram, interior design blogs (like this one!). Look for recycled furniture stores and visit flea markets. And of course, experiment! This is your home, it should be simply yours and unique.
