How to achieve Eclectic Glamor style in your apartment | Bihome.pl

Have you ever wondered how to combine the love of luxury with total freedom? Well, this is where the eclectic glamor style comes into play. Sounds proud, right? But don't worry, it's not a stiff, catalog look that makes you afraid to sit on the couch lest you crush the pillows. On the contrary! It's a brilliant mix of elegance, history and modern ease. Come, I will tell you how to invite this atmosphere to your home step by step.

Where did all this eclecticism come from?

The truth is that mixing styles is nothing new. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, wealthy manufacturers and the nobility loved to build houses that were one big explosive mixture. Architects went to great lengths to combine different eras into a coherent whole. And guess what? It really worked!

If you are ever in Łódź, be sure to visit the park. Klepacz and see Reinhold Richter's villa. This is a perfect example of how different worlds can live together in total harmony. You go from room to room and just pick your jaw up off the floor. Decorations on the ceilings, modern details for those times, and furniture from completely different fairy tales... Pure magic! And we can do exactly the same in our own M.

An armchair in which you will drown after a hard day

Listen, if you only have one piece of furniture that will instantly create an eclectic glamorous atmosphere in your living room, let it be a good armchair. But forget about boring, minimalist cubes. We are looking for something with character!

A deep armchair with quilted upholstery, preferably with high armrests and a wingback, is an absolute hit. Why? Because apart from looking amazing and luxurious, it is also incredibly comfortable. You can hide in it from the whole world, rest your head against the side headrest and take a great afternoon nap. Honestly, this is my favorite part of the show.

Warmth under your feet, i.e. carpet vertigo

The next thing is the floor. Nothing spoils a cozy mood like icy panels in the morning. In the eclectic glamor style, the carpet is simply a must. And here we can go all the way!

How about a thick, wool Arizona rug? She has incredibly fleshy, long hair that is associated with Scandinavian coziness, but has an American quality to it. It is so soft that instead of lying on the couch, you will want to lie directly on it to stretch your back after a whole day of working in front of the computer. And if you like colors, a green carpet from Dutchbone will be a great option - it will brilliantly enhance the character of the interior and create a beautiful background for the furniture.

Mustard, green and poufs for special tasks

Eclecticism loves colors and is not afraid of bold combinations. Imagine this situation: you already have green armchairs (this deep, bottle green is a hit referring to the 1950s). What to match them with? Instead of a boring, gray sofa, choose a mustard sofa.

Green and mustard are a perfect duo that immediately brings to mind the best retro design. Such a three-seater sofa, 277 cm long, will easily accommodate the whole family for an evening movie, and its color will enliven the entire room.

What if friends come over? In order not to clutter the living room with heavy furniture, it is worth having poufs at hand. They are light, mobile and look super stylish. Such a Sculpture pouffe from Hübsch It has a clever opening under the seat, so it's easy to carry with one hand. Or the Mochi model with a brilliant leather handle. Choose colors that will correspond with the rest of the room - beige, mustard or warm, light brown.

Light that creates atmosphere (not only in the bedroom)

Okay, let's get to the thing without which no interior will look good. I'm talking about lighting, of course. Let's face it - we have very little natural light in Poland for a good ten months of the year. That's why we need a real army of lamps in the living room. Hanging, standing, wall lamps… the more layers, the better.

To maintain our eclectic mishmash, you can hang lamps with rattan lampshades with interesting, geometric shapes on the ceiling. In turn, in the corner of the room, right next to the armchair, the modern, round Sphere floor lamp with frosted glass will be perfect. It gives beautiful, diffused light that literally covers the entire room with a warm mist.

What about the bedroom? Here we must create a real oasis of peace. The chandelier should be delicate, but bright enough so that you don't have to grope for your socks. For reading before going to bed, a small wall lamp above the bed is enough. And a little tip from me at the end: instead of a classic, boring bedside table, put a wooden, African coffee table next to the bed. Such a natural, slightly wild accent combined with elegance and glamor looks simply amazing!

Why is good light absolutely essential?

Have you ever wondered why in some places we immediately feel great, and in others we experience a sudden drop in energy? This is not a coincidence. We obtain over 80% of information from the world through sight. Light regulates our internal biological clock, affects our well-being, concentration and even our metabolism. Appropriate lighting is not a matter of whimsy - it is your health, better mood and everyday comfort. Make sure your homes are never gloomy!

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Will the eclectic glamor style overwhelm a small apartment in a block of flats?

Certainly not, if you approach the topic wisely! The key is moderation. Instead of buying a lot of small trinkets, choose two or three stronger accents - for example, a bold, mustard sofa and one designer floor lamp. Bright walls and large mirrors will help visually enlarge the space.

Selected furniture and lighting for this interior

How to combine old furniture with modern ones to avoid the impression of chaos?

It is best to find a common denominator for them. It may be the color (e.g. the main motif of bottle green) or the material (e.g. gold or brass details that appear both with a modern lamp and with an old, renovated grandma's table).
